On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me – FOUR types of social media content!
Did you know that certain categories of content specifically perform better on social media than other places? It’s about the intention of your audience and the type of engagement they have come to expect in a social media setting. Give the people what they want, right?!
#1. Content to engage your audience.
Of course, all your social media content should be interesting and thought provoking, but when we say that you should engage your audience we’re talking about providing marketing content that is interactive. Because most people enjoy social media for the community that it breeds, providing an environment for your audience to engage with is very important.
Create a quiz about what kind of office space is best for their company or ask them to comment on their biggest business challenge in 2017. Engaging your audience in an interactive way makes for a stickier and more memorable relationship.
2. Content that creates the “warm and fuzzies”.
You’re so much more likely to remember the company that shared a relatable, heart-warming story. Or maybe that video that even made you cry! Most people engage on social media as an escape from reality or a way to feel happier after a bad day. Don’t disappoint them!
If you somehow evoke positive feelings through your social media, your audience will look to you in the future for that boost or inspiration. And if you’re providing positive thought leadership in the commercial real estate industry, they will likely see working with you as not only a good move for themselves but support for a stronger business.
3. Content with beautiful imagery or attention-grabbing video.
Even outside of image-focused platforms like Pinterest or Instagram, your social media content is always just that much more engaging when it’s coupled with a beautiful image or entertaining video. Photos on Facebook Pages actually receive 53 percent more Likes and 104 percent more comments than the average post.
4. Content in the form of lists.
Just like we’re giving you four types of content that you should share on social media, your CRE social media page should have plenty of lists to encourage the reading and sharing of your posts. Why lists? Readers know they will be easy to skim and that they will be informative.
People are more inclined to commit to reading a list post that they know will be easy to consume, or they will find the title irresistible and their curiosity will drive them to the content. It is said that the brain is hardwired to tune into lists. Who knew?
Ultimately, the most important element when it comes to engaging your audience on social media is to provide content that is valuable and actionable. You will build trust with your target audience if you can showcase your expertise and your commitment to serving them. So, put down the wrapping paper and head over to your social media to be sure your audience is getting the attention they deserve this holiday season.
